January 2018 saw the initial soft opening of Aruba's newest education program, Commandeur's Bay Academy, located in the sleepy, serene, little fishing village of Savaneta, Aruba. The first six weeks of 2018 have provided proof that the small private American - International College Preparatory Blended Learning Center for grades 4-12 is an unqualified success.
Although, Commandeur's Bay Academy's formal official first school year does not start until August of 2018. We have opened our doors to three students who are enjoying the unique campus and classroom atmosphere, one-on- one enrichment instruction, and daily supervision and guidance provided by Robert Gibson, the academy's founding director. Out of the five great online school's offered at CBA, our 4th grade student is enrolled in Connections Academy, while our 6th grade and 7th grade students are enrolled in Forest Trail Academy. All online school options offered at Commandeur's Bay Academy offer a rigorous academic curriculum, and are fully accredited by AdvancED, the largest and most respected school accreditation organization worldwide. The results of CBA's blended learning approach indicate that small private Blended Learning Centers deliver what they promise. Students enjoy learning in the relaxed environment that provides them flexibility and choice. They are able to improve their skills and academic performance daily and weekly through the use of a mixture of educational instruction methods combined with 21st century technology. Students receive immediate feedback on their work and experience short turn around times on the grading of their assignments and assessments. Blended learning promotes development of creativity, individuality, time and organizational management, independence, and ownership, as well as so much more. Commandeur's Bay Academy invites you to follow our educational journey as we grow. Our soon to be regular blog posts will chronicle the academic voyage of our students, both in and out of the classroom. We will be highlighting their daily work, application, attitudes, assignments, and routines in our safe and secure learning environment. Experience what it is like to be part of a new and exciting program through their development as students and global citizens. Enjoy our blogs, our photo galleries, our field trips, and our posts and information found on our school's website and facebook page. Life and learning have never been better on the Southern Caribbean island of Aruba.
