Commandeur’s Bay Academy (CBA) is a small, private American- international preparatory school & blended learning center located in Savaneta, Aruba. The school was founded in January 2018 by Robert Gibson, a highly experienced, certified, international educator, and former headmaster of Learning Unlimited Preparatory School of Sint Maarten.
The Need:
Throughout the decades, Aruba has experienced continuous growth in both population and economic activity. By 2017, It was apparent that the need for a local on-island option that would allow students to attend a quality private American educational Preparatory School had not been satisfied. 1. Parents and students required a financially feasible option that would offer a high caliber, rigorous, academic program. 2. The preparatory school would also need to be able to provide fully accredited transcripts, and a diploma that would be accepted in the United states, and internationally. 3. most importantly, The school would have to be able to be effective in its educational instruction while at the same time providing a safe, nurturing, learning environment that promoted global citizenship and the use of 21st century technology & skills.
In response to this need, the idea of Commandeur's bay Academy of Aruba was born. The Solution:
Commandeur's Bay Academy offers a unique, supervised, blended learning program for students in grades 3 - 12. Students can choose an online school from a variety of top private online American school options. We closely supervise and monitor each student and their daily course attendance, assignments, grades, and academic proficiency. CBA also provides educational enrichment activities, with the CBA instructor acting as both learning coach and teacher. This type of 21st century blended learning educational program has been proven to be a highly effective strategy that incorporates the best of traditional and non-traditional education.
